Tennessee Wireless, LLC (“Tennessee Wireless”) provides broadband Internet access service over a fiber optic network serving homes and businesses in rural Middle Tennessee. This Network Management Policy describes how we manage our network, including practices that may affect your service experience. This policy supplements our Acceptable Use Policy and your service agreement.
General Principles
We manage our network to deliver reliable, high-quality Internet access for all subscribers. We do not block lawful content, throttle lawful traffic based on content or application, or impose data caps on any current residential or small business Internet plans. We may use reasonable network management practices to protect the security and integrity of our network and to address congestion or harmful traffic.
Congestion Management
Our fiber network is engineered with ample capacity for typical residential and business use. During periods of unusually high demand or localized network events, we may apply congestion management techniques that are application-agnostic and designed to preserve overall network performance. We do not prioritize traffic from affiliated entities in a way that harms non-affiliated content or services.
Device Attachment & Customer Equipment
Subscribers may use their own router or gateway, or may lease managed WiFi equipment through our optional WiFi Pro Premium Care program. Service speeds and latency may be affected by the quality, configuration, and age of customer-premises equipment, the number of connected devices, and in-home wiring. Tennessee Wireless is not responsible for performance limitations caused solely by customer-owned equipment beyond Tennessee Wireless-provided equipment.
Security & Abuse Mitigation
We monitor our network for security threats, abuse, and activity that violates our Acceptable Use Policy. We may temporarily limit or block traffic that poses a security risk, degrades network performance for other users, or violates applicable law. Examples include denial-of-service attacks, open mail relays, malware distribution, and copyright infringement when we receive a valid notice.
Application-Specific & Subscriber-Triggered Practices
Application-specific network management practices: No. We do not block or throttle specific applications, protocols, or services when used for lawful purposes.
Subscriber-triggered network management practices: Yes. We may apply management measures when a subscriber’s usage violates our Acceptable Use Policy, threatens network security, or materially degrades service for other customers.
Service Performance
Residential fiber plans are provided on a best-effort basis. Advertised speeds represent the service tier provisioned to your location; actual throughput may vary based on equipment and network conditions.
Small business fiber plans include priority business support and an SLA as described in our Small Business SLA (PDF). Business subscribers experiencing service-impacting issues receive prioritized troubleshooting and restoration response.
Transparency & Labeling
FCC Broadband Facts labels for each of our standalone Internet plans are available on our packages page and in machine-readable format.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of Tennessee Wireless Internet service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
